In Gaelic football, a 'block down' is an effective and non-aggressive form of tackling where a player uses their hands to prevent an opponent from kicking away the ball or scoring, by blocking the ball as soon as it's kicked.
This makes the perfect gift for a lifetime player and supporter of G.A.A., or the perfect piece to be awarded to someone in a club. At 13" long, this pewter sculpture perfectly captures that tense moment. An optional strip for engraving is also available. Presentation box not included.

The ancient craft of pewter making was revived in Ireland by Paddy Collins in Mullingar in 1974. Paddy's son Peter now runs the business and it employs 16 people from the local area. Most of the pieces are still made in the traditional way in our own workshop by Irish men and women, specially trained in the old casting methods, meticulous assembly and delicate hand finishing.
