Delivery Information
Please note that our products are handcrafted and produced here in Mullingar, Ireland. Each piece takes alot of attention and may pass through the hands of over 5 craftsmen before being packaged. With this in mind we recommended that you allow ample time for deliever. If you are need of your purchase urgently we suggest you telephone to discuss the lead time. Packages are generally dispatched within 2-3 working days after receipt of order, if there is surplus stock of that item, and the price includes handling and packing fees as well as postage costs. Handling fees are fixed, whereas postage fees vary according to total weight of the shipment. We advise you to group your items in one order. Your package will be dispatched at your own risk, but special care is taken to protect fragile objects. Boxes are amply sized and your items are well-protected.
Delivery & Notification
Delivery is included in prices shown on the website www.mullingarpewter.com. Amendments to delivery details cannot be made after goods have been dispatched. For other lead times on gifts please see individual product details or visit our Delivery Details page. Please note the Company cannot be responsible for adverse weather conditions effecting delivery times.
You are responsible for providing correct daytime delivery address, telephone number and postal code. The Company cannot accept responsibility for late or non-delivery if recipient address and telephone details are insufficient or incorrect. Any shortfall of which you become aware must be notified to the Company within two days of receipt of goods. Claims for non-delivery must be made within 30 days of dispatch of goods. If an item is temporarily out of stock, we will notify you of the delay and dispatch as soon as it arrives. All items are subject to availability. Once an order has been dispatched, no amendments can be made to your order.
Tax & Duties
The recipient of the products is responsible for all customs formalities for their export and import and may be required to pay any additional charges, including import duty, formal customs entry, taxes, levies and other charges. The recipient of the goods will receive a separate request for payment of these charges. Our prices do not include import taxes that may be applied by Customs in countries outside the EU.
Tax and duty (UK)
You’ll be contacted by Royal Mail, Parcelforce or the courier company if you need to pay any VAT, duty or delivery charges (‘handling fees’) to receive your goods.
They’ll send you a bill stating exactly which fees you need to pay.
They’ll normally hold your parcel for about 3 weeks. If you have not paid the bill by then, your parcel will be returned to the sender.
You will not have to pay anything to the delivery company to receive goods worth less than £135 unless they’re gifts over £39 or excise goods (for example, alcohol and tobacco).
VAT
VAT is charged on all goods (except for gifts worth £39 or less) sent from:
- outside the UK to Great Britain
- outside the UK and the EU to Northern Ireland
VAT is not charged on goods that are gifts worth £39 or less.
You pay VAT when you buy the goods or to the delivery company before you receive them. If you have to pay VAT to the delivery company, it’s charged on the total package value, including:
- the value of the goods
- postage, packaging and insurance
- any duty you owe
VAT is charged at the VAT rate that applies to your goods.
Goods worth £135 or less in total
If you bought the goods yourself and they are not excise goods, the seller will have included VAT in the total you paid.
You will need to pay VAT to the delivery company if the goods are:
- gifts sent to you by someone else and worth more than £39
- excise goods
Goods worth more than £135 in total
You will have to pay VAT to the delivery company either before the goods are delivered or when you collect them.
Customs Duty
You’ll be charged Customs Duty on all goods sent from outside the UK (or the UK and the EU if you’re in Northern Ireland) if they’re either:
- excise goods
- worth more than £135
If you’re charged Customs Duty, you’ll need to pay it on both:
- the price paid for the goods
- postage, packaging and insurance

Mullingar Pewter is not liable for any taxes or duties charged by regional authorities.
Returns
If you are not satisfied with your product, please note we can only refund or exchange a product if we receive it back within 10 working days of receipt.
Returned product must be in its original packaging and in re-saleable condition.
- Please ensure product is returned in original packaging and resalable condition, as no refund or exchange will be authorised unless these conditions are met.
- Where a product is faulty, it must be sent back in its original packaging. As soon as we receive the return, the product will be inspected. Once it has been inspected and it is deemed appropriate, we will get a replacement product sent out without delay.
- Please email pewtergiftstore@gmail.com with any details of returns/damages and include your Order Number (see address label on package for order number). Include a note stating the reason for the product return, along with your name, address, daytime contact phone number. The Customer Service Department is available Monday-Saturday 9:30am – 6.00pm.
- Then take your parcel to the post office for return using the returns address: Mullingar Pewter, Greatdown, The Downs, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland N91 A7KP.
